The compound field is used to display a the selected compound that’s defined at the functionality level. Compound fields are used to combine multiple fields together in a specific layout that are linked together as a single field.
An example of a compound field might be an Address. Depending on your business needs, geographical location, etc. the information that makes up an address may vary business to business. In this case a compound field would be helpful, build out what makes up an address as a compound field for your use case then reuse it everywhere you need it.
