Initial Setup

The Report component has some prerequisites to properly function and display Telerik Reports.

If Telerik Reporting has not been setup in your trellispark environment, then you must follow sections in this document first before following the other Telerik Reports process documents.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

To complete the Telerik Reporting configuration in trellispark, you will need to use the trellispark Workspace Owner user role.

Telerik licenses and installation

To setup Telerik Reporting and take advantage of the report component, you will need to:

  1. Purchase a Telerik Reporting license
  2. Purchase a Telerik Report Server
  3. Setup and install both the report server and Telerik Reporting

Pricing information can be found on the Telerik website at telerik.com/purchase/individual/reporting.aspx.

Once you’ve obtained the required licenses follow the setup provided by Telerik. You may also use an existing license and report server if you have them setup.

The next step is to add your report server’s connection string to the trellispark configuration.

Add report server connection string to trellispark configuration

Once you have a report server setup, you need to add its connection string to trellispark as configuration parameters. This is so the report component can establish a successful connection to read and display reports.

  1. To add new configuration parameters in trellispark, use the left navigation menu in the Server Owner workspace and select Systems Administration > Workspace. This will open the workspace application.

Under Systems Administration, select Workspace

  1. On the Workspace application, locate the Configuration Parameters childlist and select Add new item.

Add a new Configuration Parameter

  1. You will be redirected where you can create a new configuration parameter. You will need to create three (3) configuration parameters for trellispark to establish a connection to your report server.

You need to enter a Name, Value, and Pass To Client value for each configuration parameter

  1. Create the following configuration parameters, replacing the value with the correct value for your report server.

Name

Value

Pass To Client

ReportServerURL

The URL to your report server

Yes

ReportServerUsername

The username to login to your report server

Yes

ReportServerPassword
